Our partner is currently engaged in some of the most challenging and innovative automotive projects of all time. As a result of continued success & profitability for our client, we now have an excellent opportunity available for a talented and experienced Technical Procurement Buyer to join their vehicle design, development and engineering centre in Surrey, UK. Responsibilities: Primary responsibility will be to assist in a 'Strategic Technical Buying' role, responsible for sourcing and purchasing a wide range of technical components centred around prototype vehicles for programmes of work being undertaken by the company. The role is also responsible for sourcing and vetting technical suppliers, obtaining quotations, and ensuring delivery of purchased parts to the required quality, on time and to budget. The working environment is very much based around a race engineering ethos and as such the position may suit someone from this background more readily. The successfully recruited Buyer is expected to liaise with the development, project management, commercial, prototype and production manufacturing teams, technical partners and suppliers to ensure the designs meet the requirements for timing, performance, manufacturability and cost. Qualifications and experience: It is anticipated that you will be an experienced automotive buyer with at least three years' experience in automotive procurement. In addition, we would expect you to have experience in the following areas: An appreciation of whole vehicle design. Experience with external suppliers and consultants to ensure that engineering, cost and timing targets are met. You should also be a self-motivated individual capable of working under your own initiative as well as meeting tight deadlines leading a highly-motivated design team. The role involves a great deal of interaction with our technical partners and suppliers so it is expected that the candidate will be happy to travel both in the UK and Overseas.
