A leading FTSE 250 organisation is looking for a new Business Development Manager within the Portsmouth area. A fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to join a successful sales unit with good growth opportunities. Client Details A billion pound turnover business with presence in 15 countries across Europe. My client specialises in 6 different areas of business however the Account Sales Consultant will be focusing on purely the Workwear division. They maintain, launder, deliver and rent Workwear to a mixed range of public and private businesses. Description The successful Business Development Manager will be responsible for: Achieving targeted sales revenues for specific products and services as determined by the Sales Director/Field Sales Manager. Successfully delivering presentations to prospective customers in order to secure new business. Developing an in depth understanding of customer needs and alternative competitive solutions. Giving structured feedback to marketing and the Field Sales Manager/Sales Director in order to improve the value proposition to customers. Negotiating prices in order to ensure that the best possible price is achieved, that profitability targets are maintained and that the Company remains competitive. Maintaining proactive contact with prospective customers to build relationships and improve the prospects of further additional sales. Managing time effectively to achieve optimum level of time in front of prospects and customers. Conducting research and maintaining detailed knowledge of customer base to generate sufficient quality leads. Updating information onto the CRM system daily - cold calls, pipeline activity etc. Creating customised proposals as required. Ensuring all contract documentation and administration is accurate and delivered to the business in a timely manner. Preparing monthly reports for sales v target for the Field Sales Manager/Sales Director. Profile To be considered for this position you must: Be self motivated and demonstrate the desire and determination to succeed. Good time management is essential. Possess strong negotiating skills. Have good communications skills and ability to liaise at all levels, both within the company and with external organisations. Have a proven track record in new business sales. Have experience of successfully working from within a sales team with marketing, commercial and operational teams. Be skilled in the use of reporting and communications tools - Excel, PowerPoint etc. Hold a full driving licence. Have the ability to travel around the UK (primarily) as required.
