Senior Java Developer A Leading software house in the Surrey area are currently looking for a Java Developer on a permanent basisto join a thriving and exciting development team. The developer will help share best practice with others in the team while remaining hands on to build technical products. The successful candidate will have previous experience within an Agile environment probably gained through a minimum of 6 years Java development experience. Skills & Experience needed: At least 6 years' experience dealing with Java Strong technical background with Agile, TDD/BDD environment Experience with XML, Web Services, Maven, GIT, Jenkins, HTML and JavaScript Experience with Application Servers (JBoss, Weblogic) and Cloud technolhies Some experience and ability in mentoring others, code reviews and sharing best practice Excellent written and verbal communication skills What you'll be doing: Liaise with the Head of Software Development and the CTO to design and develop great new functionality and features to wow our customers with. Document designs to support future maintenance and changes to code ensuring efficiency, accuracy and consistency Make effective use of tools within the software development environment to deliver quality software in a timely manner. Design, develop and execute unit, system and integration tests of software components. You will be testing your own code, your colleagues code and you will look out for areas of untested code You'll liaise with our Customer Support Team to help diagnose and solve problems for our technical customer base. Create estimates of the level of effort required to complete software design, development and testing tasks. Mentoring junior members of the team. Collaborating with other team members to apply new ideas, practices and tools to improve the team's effectiveness, finding opportunities to improve Snowflake's products, processes and development environment.
