The OrganisationOur client is a well-known international development charity based in Central London. In order to continue their growth trajectory and whilst they are recruiting for a permanent candidate, they are looking for an Interim Head of Programme Effectiveness and Compliance.The RoleReporting into the Director of Policy and Programmes, the appointed candidate will have the following responsibilities:Taking a leading role in implementing the client's strategyEnsuring all statutory and external requirements and regulations are met, including IATIEnsuring all of their programmes and activities funded by institutional donors are monitored and evaluated effectively and deliver clear, measurable impact, compliant with donor requirementsManaging the financial risks relating to all donor-funded grants, contracts and other awardsSupporting the rest of the Directorate to deliver best practice across the entire award life-cycleEnsuring their programmes are gender transformative and that gender is mainstreamed across everything the Policy and Programmes Directorate does. Likewise, ensure they do "no harm" in terms of the environment across their programmesLeading a culture of risk management across their programme portfolioThe PersonTo be successful in the role you will need the following skills and experiences:Working in international development at a senior level, with recent practical experience of at least two of the following areas: quality assurance, impact assessment, monitoring and evaluation, grants finance and/or donor complianceTechnical standards experience, and knowledge of guidelines for quality programming, including M&E frameworks, PQTs and Theories of ChangeManaging complex development projects, ensuring the delivery of outcomes, timely reporting to donors, and accurate budget forecasting and disbursementsLeading and managing multidisciplinary teamsLeading the development of organisational business plans, strategies and KPIsHaving a passion for children's rights would be advantageous.Please note, this contract is to start as soon as possible and until the end of December 2017.To ApplyA Prospectus consultant will review and assess all submitted CVs and supporting statements in order to determine each applicant's suitability and aptitude for the contract role.As part of the selection process, candidates may be invited to meet with a consultant at our offices.Please note that this advert may close earlier than advertised, so you are encouraged to send a CV to register your interest.
