Job Role: Test Equipment Lead Location: Surrey Type: Permanent Salary/Rate: Fantastic Salary & Benefits Start Date: ASAP Clearance: SC Clearance Test Equipment Lead - Permanent - Surrey - Fantastic Salary & Benefits Our client is looking for an IT design lead experienced in the computer infrastructure industry to join our client's site in Surrey. As the Test Equipment Lead working within the Infrastructure Team the successful candidate will play a major role in the delivery of the test and development environments to support the production of system applications. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and organised with an innovative approach to problem solving and a focus on delivery. Strong communication skills will enable the successful candidate to interface and present to others effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Producing system designs derived from technical requirements and decomposing these into system specifications for procurement or development. - Technical input to the project management team to produce robust cost estimates, technical risk assessment and mitigation. - Investigating and addressing technical issues by modifying existing designs or correcting design defects. Ensuring that all change records are maintained to accurately track the product's design baseline. - You will be self-motivated and organised with an innovative approach to problem solving and a focus on delivery. - Your strong communication skills will enable you to interface and present to others. Key Skills: - You will have demonstrable experience in the specification, design and development of complex systems utilising COTS information technology. - Your experience will also include the planning and coordination of tasks necessary to deliver complex integration projects to challenging timescales. - Systems architecture development, implementation and maintenance. - Knowledge of the internals of Windows and Unix-based operating systems. - Good level of understanding of TCP/IP networks and switching protocols. - High-level experience of high-performance processing design, high-resilience networks, modern processing systems and virtualization (including VMware or other virtualised products). - Experience of using UML. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desired Skills: - Software development utilising programming and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bourne/Bash shell, Python, Java, C# - An understanding of design-for-safety and the production of evidence to support product safety justifications - Requirements management within a DOORS environment - Enterprise Architect - Teamcenter - Experience of the design, development, test and qualification of products for use in a military deployed environment. - Ability and experience in interacting with and successfully influencing key stakeholders at all levels.
