Overview We have an exciting position for a Data Privacy Manager to join our Data Protection team where you will be providing pragmatic and commercially-focussed data privacy advice across Centrica. In this role you will balance the needs of the business to manage data to drive business growth, along with ensuring compliant, responsible and fair use of personal data. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in projects within our innovative market leading Connected Home business, performing privacy impact assessments on our new products which are created for consumers across the world. If you have in-house experience either as a Data Privacy lawyer, consultant or are in a generalist Data Privacy role and are looking for a career in a fast paced environment then we would love to hear from you. Location: Staines Salary: Competitive The Role Assisting the Lead Counsel – Head of Privacy with managing the global data privacy programme, including providing input on policy, standards and templates, governance, assurance activities, training and awareness and legislative and regulatory changes Delivering high quality advice on business data commercialisation and transformation projects and programmes, new products and propositions, outsourcing and partnership arrangements, ID&V privacy and security issues and data sharing with third parties Working with and supporting internal partners responsible for managing personal data, including providing advice on data privacy risks across the organisation. Providing support on third party agreements, including procurement arrangements, data acquisition and data sharing agreements Advising on lead generation, marketing & customer contact campaigns, including the application of marketing preferences. Managing data privacy breaches and data risks and investigate, report on and recommend appropriate action for any identified areas of exposure The Person Experienced data privacy specialist who provides pragmatic, commercially focused, risk based advice to colleagues. Experience of having worked in a complex multi-product commercial business Significant business facing experience in a legal role dealing with a range of commercial legal issues as well as working directly with business leaders Degree educated Data Privacy qualifications desired Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate in a non-technical way to commercial stakeholders, colleagues and third parties at all levels. Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders, internally and externally, especially with regulators.
